Headline

Bitcoin ETF assets under management (AUM) for the first time surpasses 887 000 BTC in USA and 4 900 BTC in Hong Kong (>4.52% of BTC supply) as spot markets’ recovery continues

Impact

Long term impact low to moderate as demands come from USA-based institutions with hesitant demands from retail investors and non-USA insitutions.

Opinion

Surpassing 4.50% of total BTC supply in USA is a meaningful step considering relatively short history of Bitcoin ETF. However, in Hong Kong share is 0.02% but Bitcoin ETF has started only recently. Demands from institutions in USA are absorbing a significant proportion of available coins while demands from retail investors globally and non-USA institutions are smaller. If this trend continues the BTC scarcity will increase. The involvement of retails investors and non-USA institutions, if change, may be esential for future trends and BTC price.

Headline

The Republican presidential candidate in the US - Donald Trump - was shot at during a rally in Pennsylvania. Trump was taken to a hospital but on the same day has been released and returned to his home.

Impact

Long term impact low to moderate as the policies of both political parties do not differ much in terms of digital technology and economy.

Opinion

Since Trump has been released from the hospital and returned to his home it will have minimum direct influence on his candidacy. A man involved in the attempted assassination of Trump was young (20 years old) so it will be difficult to assign political motivation to the incident. The effect on the election may stem from public perception of the incident with the presidential candidate and former president which may be neutral to slightly positive.
